This is the only thing that this woman wants someone to have told her before losing 336 pounds

When Brittany May began her weight loss journey more than two years ago, she knew she would lose her skin when she reached her goal. Now she weighs 336 pounds less, but she was not prepared for the weight of that extra skin and the pain it would cause her.

"No one spoke about the pain that loose skin can cause and the discomfort and limitations that it entails," May tells Health. "I have pounds and pounds of skin hanging from all parts of my body that cause me to lose balance and cause pain in my neck, back, and shoulders."

In a situation like May's, you would think that the answer would be to remove the skin, right? Well, that's easier said than done. The surgery is very expensive and, as no one warned May about the complications of wearing loose skin, I had no idea that I would need to save up for such a procedure.

"I thought I was just going to have loose skin, be fine with that and be able to move on with my life," he says. But now that you have seen that this is not the case, I wish I had saved money along the way.

It goes without saying that your situation can be quite defeating. "I worked very hard to get rid of my old physical prison, and now I have created another," says May.

-Y’all! I feel like I just updated at 10% and we’ve blown right past 25...we’re at 30% funded! Holy cow!!! I seriously cannot thank you all enough. Thank you for believing in me and my journey. Every day we get closer and closer to making this dream a reality! - -For those of you just joining in on this journey, let me catch you up! I’m a small town high school agriculture teacher that at the age of 23 weighed 514 pounds. I set forth on a weight loss journey to better be able to provide for them. In just about two years I’m 1/3 of what I used to be losing 336 pounds! This incredible weight loss journey has created oh so many freedoms, but one main limitation. The copious amounts of left over excess skin is now a painful and limiting factor. - -I tend to be stubborn (no surprise to folks that know me) especially when it comes to asking for help. Thanks to the love and support of you folks, I have finally worked up the guts to ask for help. I will also be documenting the skin removal as I have the other facets of this journey in hopes of educating and helping others. My apologies for those of you getting sick of me talking about this. I just can’t help but dream of a day of being skin free, and potentially before the wedding in June! - -Again, a HUGE thank you to everyone that has shopped the store, donated, shared, and sends good vibes and positivity my way. You guys rock! - -Links to the shop, the GoFundMe, as well as my story are in my bio ❤️

But no matter how frustrated she feels, she never regrets her decision to lose weight. Sure, there are some movements that your skin prevents you from doing in the gym. But at least you can fit in the driver's seat of a car to go there, he says. "It's still a complete day and night difference from what the world has to offer me now in this size, instead of 500 pounds."

To cope with your loose skin, always have a bottle of Gold Bond No Mess Spray Powder on hand to keep things dry and avoid irritation, in addition to wearing shirts and leggings tighter than usual to keep everything in place.

May now shares her Instagram experience with the hope that other people on their own weight loss trips can have a better idea of what to expect from what she had. He also wants others with loose skin to know that it is not something to be ashamed of. In any case, it is a reminder of how much you have worked and all the progress you have made.

It is not uncommon for people to come to May and say: "I want to lose weight, but I am afraid of loose skin," she says. His response: "Just think about the best that can be for you and your loved ones if you lose weight, even with your skin." Do not let fear of what comes prevents you from getting there. "

During this season of thanks, I have oh so much to be thankful for! I’m so incredibly thankful for all of you. I live my life out loud, which as an introverted teacher can be quite overwhelming at times. I don’t wish being 500+ pounds on anyone, but the fact that I get to use my journey through weight loss (and hopefully through skin removal) to now help you is humbling. Thank you for pushing me outside of my comfort zone. Thank you for your love and support. Thank you for showing me it is okay to ask for help. Thank you for being you ❤️ with your help and spreading the word, I will one day be able to live life without the pain and restrictions the skin causes. Thanks to all of you, the dream of getting this done AND potentially before the wedding just might actually happen. The link in my bio shows both the shop and GoFundMe. Once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️ ———————————————————————— #weightloss #weightlossjourney #fattofit #obesetobeast #fit #fitfam #fedup #donate #looseskin #excessskin #plussize #help #skin #selflove #plasticsurgery #tummytuck #plasticsurgery #skinremoval #skinremovalsurgery #obesetobeast #gym #fitnessmotivation #exercise #extremeweightloss #gofundme #selfcare #thanksgiving #bra #tattoo #missittybritty
